There is no point in using the word 'impossible' to describe something that has clearly happened.

Zen is a liberation from time. For if we open our eyes and see clearly, it becomes obvious that there is no other time than this instant, and that the past and the future are abstractions without any concrete reality.

What they have been teaching us is wrong. Yes, we do have control over our choices. Why? Because life gave us the freedom to choose. The only downside to this freedom are the insatiable consequences we shall have to face because of the choices we learned to embrace.

Even if you time travel your past, it can't be changed, likewise you can't possibly change your future, it is always the present which matters.

Without realizing that the past is constantly determining their present actions, they avoid learning anything about their history. They continue to live in their repressed childhood situation, ignoring the fact that is no longer exists, continuing to fear and avoid dangers that, although once real, have not been real for a long time.

I hoped our lives would continue this way forever, but inevitably the past came knocking. Not the good kind that was collectible but the bad kind that had arthritis.

You do not even think of your own past as quite real; you dress it up, you gild it or blacken it, censor it, tinker with it...fictionalize it, in a word, and put it away on a shelf - your book, your romanced autobiography. We are all in the flight from the real reality. That is the basic definition of Homo sapiens.

Events, once happened, lose reality, alter with a glance, a storm, a night. In time, the past never happened. But who could know? Who could know that the past is not as solid as this instant…

The past, which as always did not know the future, acted in ways that ask to
be imagined before they are condemned. Or even simplified.

It is a cruel, ironical art, photography. The dragging of captured moments into the future; moments that should have been allowed to be evaporate into the past; should exist only in memories, glimpsed through the fog of events that came after. Photographs force us to see people before their future weighed them down....

Indeed, the future is signalled in the past, but time has to pass to see it. Art is the witness.

The past informs our present and our future.

I don't like museums, I like labs.

People are so busy polishing their past, that they forget to paint their future.

Study the past if you would define the future.

The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.

One cannot and must not try to erase the past merely because it does not fit the present.

A generation which ignores history has no past - and no future.

History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon.

Why should we look to the past in order to prepare for the future? Because there is nowhere else to look.
